DeAndre Hopkins is 1 of 4 players with 99 rating in Madden 20

3

Without a single dropped catch last season, DeAndre Hopkins arguably has the best hands in the NFL. Now, he is also one of the best in a popular video game too.

Madden fans will soon get to experience the impeccable catchability of the All-Pro wideout, who earned a maximum overall rating of 99 in the newly-unveiled Madden NFL 20.

Hopkins is just one of four NFL players to earn a 99 OVR, joining Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner and Khalil Mack, and is the only offensive player in Madden NFL 20. Hopkins, rated in a number of categories, also scored a 99 in: Awareness, Catch Rating, Spectacular Catch Rating, Catch in Traffic Rating and Release Rating.

Hopkins, coming off his second consecutive First-Team All-Pro campaign, scored 11 touchdowns and set career highs in receptions (115) and receiving yards (1,572) in 2018. He joins J.J. Watt as the only two Texans to be included in the highly-coveted 99 Club. Watt was rated 99 in four editions of Madden (2014-17).

Madden NFL 20 will be released worldwide on August 2.

Rockets Reveal Three New Uniforms for 2019-20 NBA Season

1

The Rockets revealed three new uniforms for the 2019-20 NBA season.

The red “Icon” and white “Association” jerseys showcase significant changes including a new “Rockets” font, modernized side panels, and the inclusion of black as a core color. The new custom font moves away from the past gothic typeface for a clearer and more streamlined look. The side panels evoke a rocket launch with propulsion trails at the bottom of the shorts. The inclusion of black as a core color is partially a result of the popularity of the fan-favorite black “Statement” jersey the Rockets debuted during the 2016-17 season. That uniform will continue to be used in the upcoming season, in addition to the three new kits and a fourth which has yet to be revealed.

Another new addition to the Rockets’ uniform lineup is bound to become a fan favorite this season as well. The new “ketchup and mustard” colored “Classic” jersey celebrates 25 seasons since the Rockets went back-to-back after winning the 1994-95 NBA Championship. The colors and design of the uniform are the same as that historic season, but the jersey and shorts will be made with current performance material. The uniform will be worn only for the upcoming season and showcases a contrast in style with the uniforms of today. Some of the most notable differences are the original U-shaped neckline and the lack of a team logo on the belt line.

Harris County Attorney Ryan Obtains Authority to Sue Valero in Federal Court

0

County Attorney Vince Ryan will file a federal lawsuit against Valero Energy alleging years of violating environmental regulations have damaged the local community.  The Harris County Commissioners Court authorized filing the lawsuit during the court session on June 24.

“We appreciate the support of the Commissioners Court as we explore innovative ways to address the environmental disregard of these large companies and protect our community,” said County Attorney Ryan. “This is a very important first step for the County in bringing this kind of litigation against a facility impacting the community.”

Litigation in federal court against a company for its environmental impact on a community will be a first in Harris County.  According to Rock Owens, the Managing Attorney for the Environmental Group in the County Attorney’s Office, the lawsuit will be filed in federal court where the judge has greater authority to order remedies that will prevent future releases.

The case is the result of years of environmental regulation violations on the part of Valero – most notably, the benzene emissions after Hurricane Harvey in 2017 that affected the Manchester community. Manchester is a mostly Hispanic neighborhood next to the refinery in southeast Houston.

During Hurricane Harvey, the Valero refinery released toxic emissions including close to 1,900 pounds of benzene, a volatile component of crude oil known to cause cancer.

Action against Valero comes on the heels of lawsuits filed by the Harris County Attorney against Exxon, KMCO and Intercontinental Terminals Co., in the wake of recent environmental disasters.
