The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at William P. Hobby Airport Monday evening as airport personnel work to resolve an issue with the lighting system on a runway, according to airport officials.

On its Twitter page, Hobby Airport says its crews are working diligently to restore operations as soon as the runway is deemed safe.

For now, there are no incoming or outgoing flights.

The airport urges travelers to check the status of arriving and departing flights with the operating airline prior to coming to the airport.
