First, the Houston Astros return to Daikin Park for a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners. The teams will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday’s game begins at 7:10 p.m. Meanwhile, Sunday’s game starts at 6:20 p.m. and features a Kids Run the Bases promotion.

See “Mamma Mia!” on a Downtown Rooftop
For a free Friday night activity, POST Houston will screen “Mamma Mia!” on its Skylawn rooftop. The movie begins at 8 p.m. and runs until approximately 10 p.m.
Admission remains free with an advance RSVP. In addition, the all-ages event allows guests to bring blankets and towels.
However, POST prohibits lawn chairs and outside food. Instead, visitors can purchase meals and drinks inside POST Market before the movie.

Explore Fatherhood Through Houston Art
Meanwhile, The Health Museum will introduce “The Fatherhood Effect” during a preview reception Friday. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Healing Arts exhibition examines fatherhood through work by 13 Houston-area artists. Specifically, the artists explore personal, cultural and community experiences connected to fathers and father figures.

Catch a Mystery at Alley Theatre
For theater fans, “The Girl on the Train” continues at Alley Theatre through Aug. 30. Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel adapted the stage thriller from Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel.
The story follows Rachel Watson as she enters an investigation involving a missing woman. Along the way, questions about memory, truth and betrayal drive the mystery.

Attend the Final Weekend of “Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas”
Additionally, Stages will present the final performances of “Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas: Sister Rolls the Dice!” through Sunday.
