Frida en Primavera Dinner + Fashion Show

Patrons will enjoy an evening inspired by Frida’s iconic style, which was known for its bold colors, intricate patterns and use of floral motifs. Local designers will style models and showcase their interpretations on the runway. This will take place in the beautiful Ballroom at Bayou Place in the heart of Downtown Houston.

Las Cinco Etapas del Duelo

Aprende a lidiar con el duelo y la pérdida con sabiduría y valor.

 

No hay escape, todos lo experimentan varias veces en su vida, y le huyen. El duelo a las pérdidas es una etapa de la vida que todo mundo experimenta, pero pocos lo enfrentan con sabiduría y con valor.

En este taller vas a aprender tres objetivos importantes en el duelo a las pérdidas. Vas a aprender las cinco etapas del duelo, como afrontamos el duelo en nuestra cultura Latina y a través del mundo, y maneras para lidiar con el duelo sanamente.

 

Aprenderás:

– las cinco etapas del duelo y la pérdida e identificar los recursos en la comunidad de Houston para el duelo.

– Duelo a través de las culturas: ¿Cómo se afligen otras culturas?

-Diferentes tipos de pérdidas/diferentes tipos de reacciones.

-Habilidades de afrontamiento para manejar el duelo y comenzar el camino hacia una “nueva normalidad”

18th Annual

Frida Festival

Saturday, April 29th

The month will end with the 18th Annual Frida Festival taking place at MECA in the Historic Dow School building.

The festival will feature local musicians and performers along with an arts market with a wide range of merchants, vendors, artisans and one-of-a-kind finds.

We will also have our famous Frida Look-Alike Contest for all ages. This year we will facilitate the contest online with an announcement of the winner at the Frida Festival.

Dia Del Nino

Sunday, April 30th

Short plays in English and Spanish performed by Houston actors and theater groups.

Performances by Main Street Theater, Grupo de Teatro Indigo, and Grupo Somos Todos.

Bouncy house, snacks, and fun art activities available!
