The Houston Texans Rivalries uniforms will soon move from carefully placed clues to a complete public reveal. The team announced that the new alternate look will be unveiled Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Houston released promotional videos showing players viewing the uniforms for the first time. However, camera angles prevented fans from seeing the full design.
Texans Players React to New Uniforms
The reaction video featured several Texans players responding positively to the new look. Wide receiver Tank Dell, safety Reed Blankenship and cornerback Kamari Lassiter were among those shown examining the uniforms.
Dell offered an enthusiastic response, while Blankenship called the design “tough.” Lassiter said he could “get jiggy with” the new combination.
The video concluded by announcing the Aug. 25 reveal date. The presentation is expected at 9 a.m. Central.
A separate teaser described the uniforms as innovative and different. The team also called the design “the most Houston thing” ever seen on a football field.
Specific details remained hidden as of Monday. The Texans have not publicly confirmed the jersey color, helmet design or complete visual theme.
Houston Texans Rivalries Uniforms Include Local Story
Team officials have spent months hinting that the uniforms will feature a distinctly Houston identity. The franchise has placed possible clues throughout its website, social media graphics and promotional materials.
Texans Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Doug Vosik previously said the design would tell a local story that other teams have not explored.
The concept will not simply repeat the Space City theme used by several Houston sports organizations. Instead, the Texans want to highlight another part of the city’s culture.
H-Town Blue is expected to play an important role. Battle Red could also appear in the design, although the team has not confirmed the final color combination.
Both colors have become popular with players and fans. The Texans introduced H-Town Blue as an official accent during the franchise’s 2024 uniform redesign.
New Look Will Debut Against Indianapolis Colts
The Texans will wear the uniforms for the first time against the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 19. The Week 11 matchup will air nationally on Thursday Night Football.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Central at Reliant Stadium. The team is encouraging fans to wear H-Town Blue for the game.
Houston selected Indianapolis as its featured Rivalries opponent because of the recent importance of games between the teams. The Texans and Colts have competed in several meaningful AFC South matchups.
“Those games of consequence are what turns into really good rivalries,” Vosik said in a Texans team article.
NFL Expands Rivalries Uniform Program
The NFL and Nike launched the Rivalries program during the 2025 season. The initiative gives selected teams a city-inspired alternate uniform for a divisional matchup.
Teams from the AFC East and NFC West participated during the first year. The AFC South and NFC North will receive new uniforms for 2026.
Houston’s new set will join the team’s Deep Steel Blue, Liberty White, Battle Red and H-Town Blue options. It also arrives as the Texans celebrate their 25th season.
The complete reveal Tuesday will allow fans to determine which clues appeared in earlier team promotions. The uniforms will then become part of one of Houston’s biggest home games of the 2026 season.
