A quick-thinking passer-by is being hailed a hero after rescuing three children from the sea near United Kingdom’s Blackpool north pier on Sunday. According to Lancashire Police, the children had been caught out by the tide while on the steps leading to the beach and were swept into the water.
Life Ring Toss Saves Lives
The unidentified rescuer acted swiftly by throwing a life ring into the sea, helping bring the children to safety. Police credited her decisive actions with saving the children’s lives.
Children Recover After Hospital Visit
All three children were evaluated by North West Ambulance Service and later at a hospital before being allowed to return home. Their ages have not yet been released.
Authorities Urge Caution Near the Sea
“This is a reminder to exercise caution when you are near to the sea, especially at high tide as the waves can be unpredictable and extremely dangerous,” a Lancashire Police spokesperson said.
Parents were also reminded to keep track of their children’s whereabouts when near coastal areas to avoid similar emergencies.
