Authorities are searching for three men accused of fatally beating 24-year-old Gavin Melchor outside a Valero gas station near NRG Stadium on March 2.

Shocking surveillance footage, released Tuesday, captures the brutal attack, which took place just after 1 a.m. Melchor, who had just left the Houston Rodeo, was seen speaking with one of the suspects before the man suddenly lunged at him, knocking him into an SUV and onto the pavement.

As Melchor lay motionless on his back, one attacker rifled through his pockets, while another kicked him in the head. Disturbingly, the video also shows bystanders watching the assault unfold without intervening.

“They’re all a bunch of cowards to me,” Chris Melchor, the victim’s father told ABC13. “All those people attacking my son and just looking on. I felt helpless as a dad.”

Melchor had stopped at the gas station to withdraw cash from an ATM before the fatal attack. His older sister, Christa Melchor, shared the family’s heartbreak.

“I haven’t brought myself to watch it yet,” she told ABC13.
