Houston Democrats are set to gather Sunday evening as gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa brings her “No Te Dejes – Fight Back Tour” to its final stretch ahead of the March 3 Texas Democratic primary.
Hinojosa will be joined by U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego during a 5 p.m. rally in Houston, where both leaders are expected to energize supporters and outline what they describe as a path forward for working Texas families.
The event comes just days before voters head to the polls, with Hinojosa sharpening her message around affordability and government accountability. According to campaign organizers, speakers will focus on expanding access to affordable health care, increasing the supply of attainable housing, strengthening public schools, and holding state leadership accountable.
Hinojosa has also criticized Gov. Greg Abbott, pointing to what her campaign calls “decades of corruption” under his leadership and arguing that Texans deserve transparent and responsive government.
Several prominent Harris County leaders are scheduled to take the stage alongside Hinojosa and Gallego, including U.S. Rep. Christian Menefee, Harris County Commissioners Lesley Briones and Rodney Ellis, and Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare.
Campaign officials say speakers will be available for interviews and questions from members of the press in attendance. The Houston rally marks one of the final stops of the statewide tour as Hinojosa makes her closing appeal to Democratic primary voters.
