The LG C6 OLED release date arrived in March 2026, following the television’s debut at CES. LG opened U.S. preorders through its website on March 5 before expanding availability to authorized retailers later that month.
The C6 succeeds the popular LG C5 as the company’s mainstream premium OLED television. It brings a faster processor, improved brightness and several new gaming features.
LG C6 OLED Release Date and Preorder Details
LG announced U.S. pricing and availability for the C6 on March 5. Preorders opened through LG.com that day, giving shoppers an early opportunity to secure the television.
The company confirmed that retail availability would begin in March 2026. However, LG did not announce one nationwide release day for every model and retailer.
Some models reached stores later than others. Availability also varied by screen size and location.
LG offered the C6 in six sizes at launch. Options included 42, 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches.
The 42-inch television carried a starting price of $1,399. The 48-inch version launched at $1,599, while the 55-inch model cost $1,999.
The 65-inch C6 launched at $2,699. Larger 77-inch and 83-inch models carried prices of $3,699 and $5,299, respectively.
New Processor Powers the LG C6 OLED
LG equipped the C6 with its Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3. The processor analyzes images and sound to adjust the television’s presentation for different content.
AI Picture Pro handles visual enhancements, including upscaling and scene-based adjustments. AI Sound Pro can create virtual 11.1.2-channel audio using the television’s built-in speakers.
An AI Picture and Sound Wizard also helps viewers customize settings based on their preferences. The television runs LG’s webOS 26 smart platform.
The C6 supports Dolby Vision for compatible high-dynamic-range content. Dolby Atmos support is also included for movies, television programs and games.
According to LG’s official announcement, the television received Perfect Black and Perfect Color verification from UL Solutions.
Gaming Features Receive an Upgrade
The LG C6 targets console and PC gamers with support for 4K gaming at up to 165Hz. Variable refresh rate technology helps reduce stuttering and screen tearing during fast gameplay.
The television also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium. These features allow compatible gaming systems to match the display’s refresh rate more closely.
LG included low-latency performance and VESA ClearMR 10000 certification. The certification evaluates motion clarity on digital displays.
The 165Hz capability exceeds the 120Hz output supported by current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. However, PC gamers with compatible equipment can take advantage of the higher refresh rate.
Larger C6 Models Offer Added Brightness
Not every C6 screen size uses the same display technology. The 77-inch and 83-inch models receive LG’s Hyper Radiant Color technology and Brightness Booster Pro.
LG designed those larger televisions to produce brighter colors while maintaining the deep black levels associated with OLED displays.
Brightness Booster technology is available on the 48, 55 and 65-inch models. Buyers should compare individual specifications because performance can vary across the lineup.
The LG C6 enters a competitive premium television market with options from Samsung, Sony and other manufacturers. Its wide size range gives shoppers choices for bedrooms, gaming setups and larger living spaces.
