The Dune: Part Three final trailer brings Paul Atreides closer to the consequences of his rise. Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction trilogy will conclude in theaters and IMAX this December.

The new footage combines massive battles with a more personal conflict between Paul and Chani. Meanwhile, political enemies prepare to challenge the Emperor from within his own Imperium.

‘Dune: Part Three’ Final Trailer Reveals a Divided Empire

Nearly two decades have passed since Paul seized control of the Imperium. Timothée Chalamet returns as a hardened ruler whose holy war has transformed the universe.

However, power has not brought peace. Paul remains haunted by visions of collapse as rebellion spreads and a conspiracy forms around him.

The trailer presents Zendaya’s Chani as a central figure in the unfolding mystery. Her relationship with Paul appears strained by his choices, his marriage to Princess Irulan and the destruction caused by his reign.

The footage also suggests that Paul’s ability to see the future may no longer protect him. Explosions, warfare and scenes of personal betrayal point toward a dangerous path with no easy escape.

Familiar Allies and New Enemies Return

Jason Momoa returns after Duncan Idaho’s death in the first film. His new role connects Paul’s past to the conspiracy threatening the throne.

Anya Taylor-Joy also expands her role as Alia Atreides. The character first appeared briefly in Dune: Part Two through one of Paul’s visions.

Robert Pattinson joins the franchise as Scytale, a mysterious new adversary with plans for Paul’s empire. Florence Pugh returns as Princess Irulan, while Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Lady Jessica.

The ensemble also includes Isaach de Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling and Oscar winner Javier Bardem. Together, the cast brings several political and personal conflicts into the trilogy’s final chapter.

Denis Villeneuve Concludes His ‘Dune’ Trilogy

Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he wrote with Brian K. Vaughan. The story draws from the novels of Frank Herbert, including the events and themes of Dune Messiah.

The filmmaker has described the movie as more intense and action-focused than the previous installments. Still, the final trailer keeps Paul and Chani’s fractured relationship at the center of the story.

Villeneuve again works with several acclaimed collaborators. The creative team includes cinematographer Linus Sandgren, production designer Patrice Vermette and editor Joe Walker.

Jacqueline West designed the costumes, while Paul Lambert and Mag Sarnowska supervised the visual effects. DNEG also returns to create the film’s large-scale environments and action.

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer provides the score. His music has helped define the trilogy’s mix of spirituality, danger and political power.

When Will ‘Dune: Part Three’ Arrive in Theaters?

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures will release Dune: Part Three internationally beginning Dec. 16, 2026. The film opens across North America on Dec. 18.

The movie will play exclusively in theaters and IMAX. Tickets are now available in markets around the world.

For audiences who have followed Paul’s journey from exile to absolute power, the final chapter promises a difficult reckoning. The Dune: Part Three final trailer makes clear that victory was only the beginning of his greatest struggle.
