Dressed in an “Occupy Mars” shirt under a sport coat and donning a black “Make America Great Again” baseball cap, Musk proclaimed, “As you can see, I’m not just MAGA, I’m dark MAGA.”
The appearance marked Musk’s first official endorsement of Trump since publicly supporting him shortly after a near-assassination attempt on the former president in July. Trump invited Musk to join him at the rally, held at the same venue where he had faced violence.
During the event, Musk encouraged attendees to “Fight! Fight! Fight!”—a phrase reminiscent of Trump’s rallying cries post-attack. The crowd responded enthusiastically, recognizing Musk, who has recently emerged as a key ally of Trump.
Trump praised Musk for his contributions to the American automotive industry and for championing free speech through the platform X, which Musk owns. “President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution,” Musk declared, emphasizing the stakes of the upcoming election. “He must win to preserve democracy in America.”
With the presidential election only 30 days away, Musk’s call to action resonated strongly with the crowd. He warned, “If they don’t [vote], this will be the last election. That’s my prediction.” Musk, who has a history of vocalizing political opinions on X, reiterated his claims that Democrats are attempting to curtail voting rights, despite evidence of Republican-led initiatives that challenge voter eligibility.
In a departure from his typically reserved speaking style, Musk raised his energy level, urging the audience to ensure their voter registration and to actively remind others to participate in the election. His involvement in the political landscape has intensified, particularly through the America PAC, a super PAC aimed at supporting Trump in critical battleground states.
Once known for their conflicts, Musk and Trump have forged a strong alliance in recent months, with Musk utilizing his extensive reach on social media to bolster Trump’s campaign. The two have also discussed Musk’s proposal to establish a “government efficiency commission” should Trump regain the presidency, a concept that aligns with Trump’s focus on reducing federal spending and bureaucracy.
