MIAMI, Florida (August 4, 2020). Multiplatinum award-winning Latin superstar Prince Roycehas made history by setting a new all-time record for the most consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart with his bachata single “Carita de Inocente” which has remained at #1 for twenty weeks in a row. Royce broke the previous record which was held by Don Omar and Lucenzo (“Danza Kuduro”) and Aventura (“Inmortal”); each act had charted #1 on Tropical Airplay for eighteen weeks. The hit song is the artist’s eighteenth Billboard Tropical Airplay #1.

Two weeks ago the singer-songwriter reached #1 on Latin radio in the United States and Puerto Rico with “Carita de Inocente”, scoring his twelfth #1 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart. “Carita de Inocente” is Platinum in the United States & Puerto Rico.
Royce also released “Carita de Inocente Remix”, featuring Myke Towers. The remix came together in the midst of the quarantine with Towers, Royce and his long-time bachata producer, D’lesly “Dice” Lora working on the track from home.
“Carita de Inocente Remix” has been certified Platinum in Spain, reaching the #1 spot on the VEVO chart and it has remained among the top five most streamed songs in the country across platforms (Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube). The hit song has been on Spotify’s Top 50 Viral charts in over ten countries including Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia. “Carita de Inocente” is the latest single off Royce’s ALTER EGO album which debuted at #1 in February on the following Billboard charts: Top Latin Albums, Latin Album Sales, and Tropical Albums and it has been certified 2X Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for its sales in the United States and Puerto Rico. ALTER EGO had the most successful debut sales week for a Latin album since April 2019 and the first and only #1 debut of the year on the Tropical Albums chart. Internationally, it is 3X Platinum in Argentina, Gold in Spain and Mexico and Platinum in Peru.
