Houston voting locations are open today, Tuesday, Nov. 3, for the 2026 general and special elections. Harris County voters may cast a ballot at any Election Day vote center in the county from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Harris County Uses Countywide Vote Centers

Registered Harris County voters are not limited to a neighborhood precinct on Election Day. They may use any open county vote center, according to the Harris County Clerk’s Office.

The county’s online locator allows voters to search by address. It also displays nearby locations and available line information. Checking the locator shortly before traveling can help identify a convenient site.

A voter-specific sample ballot is also available through the county’s election website. Printed sample ballots and handwritten notes may enter the voting booth. However, state rules restrict the use of phones and other recording devices within 100 feet of a vote center entrance.

Identification and Voting Assistance

Texas voters should bring an acceptable photo ID. Approved documents include a Texas driver’s license, Texas identification card, Texas election identification certificate or U.S. passport.

Other accepted options include a Texas handgun license, qualifying military identification or a citizenship certificate with a photograph. Certain expired identification documents may also qualify.

A registered voter without an approved photo ID may complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration. The voter must also present an accepted supporting document, such as a voter registration certificate, utility bill or certified birth certificate. The Harris County election information page provides full requirements.

Ballots are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese. Every location also offers curbside voting for eligible voters who need assistance. Accessible voting booths and adjustable display settings are available.

Houston residents can confirm a location, review a sample ballot and monitor current conditions through HarrisVotes.com. Election workers can also provide information at 713-755-6965 before polls close at 7 p.m.
