Latin Wave 18: A Celebration of New Latin American Cinema

Latin Wave 18 brings a fresh lineup of bold, dynamic films that showcase the vibrant storytelling coming out of Latin America today. Taking place April 25–27, 2025, this year’s festival continues its tradition of spotlighting award-winning works from across the region, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Panama.

Curated in collaboration with Cinema Tropical, Latin Wave 18 welcomes back Carlos A. Gutiérrez as artistic director. The program promises an engaging mix of genres and themes, with appearances from visiting filmmakers offering behind-the-scenes insights and post-screening discussions.

All films will be presented in their original languages with English subtitles and screened digitally at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

  • MFAH Members, Seniors (65+), and Students with ID: $8
  • Special Offer: Free admission for students with a valid ID on Sunday, April 27 only.
