The Ye Houston concert drew more than 80,000 fans to Reliant Stadium on Halloween night. The Oct. 31 performance set a new U.S. stadium attendance record for a rap concert, according to the venue.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, performed for nearly three hours. The show also featured appearances by Playboi Carti and Ye’s daughter, North West. Drake, Travis Scott and producer Mike Dean were later spotted in the audience.
Ye Houston Concert Draws More Than 80,000 Fans
Reliant Stadium announced that the concert broke the U.S. stadium rap attendance record. The venue did not release a precise figure in its announcement.
Multiple entertainment outlets reported an estimated attendance of 80,210 fans.
Ye briefly acknowledged the milestone during the show. He also called out “H-Town” and recognized Houston producer Mike Dean.
The Halloween concert marked Ye’s first Houston performance since 2019. That year, he brought his Sunday Service program to Lakewood Church. He also performed for inmates at the Harris County Jail.
Playboi Carti and North West Join Ye Onstage
Playboi Carti became the night’s most prominent musical guest. He joined Ye for several songs, including “Carnival” and “Off the Grid.”
Carti later took the lead on “Evil J0rdan” and “FE!N.” The performances brought another burst of energy to the already packed stadium.
North West also joined her father for three songs. She appeared in horror-themed face paint that matched the Halloween setting.
Her performance included “Legacy” and “Talking.” Ye embraced his daughter before she descended from the elevated stage structure.
The set covered more than two decades of Ye’s career. It included songs from his recent album, Bully, alongside well-known tracks such as “Gold Digger,” “Stronger” and “All of the Lights.”
Ye closed the concert with “Runaway.” Lasers, pyrotechnics and a large half-sphere stage shaped the production throughout the night.
Drake and Travis Scott Arrive After Rockets Game
Drake and Houston native Travis Scott did not perform during the concert. Instead, the two artists were spotted watching from the audience after arriving later in the evening.
Earlier that night, Drake and Scott attended the Houston Rockets game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They sat courtside before traveling to Reliant Stadium after the game, according to The Source.
Footage circulated online showing Drake watching Ye and Playboi Carti perform “Carnival.” Ye also reportedly joked from the stage about Drake arriving late.
Drake’s presence attracted attention because of his complicated public history with Ye. The two artists have experienced several periods of conflict and reconciliation. However, their appearance at the same event did not confirm a new collaboration.
Scott’s attendance also carried local significance. The Houston rapper has collaborated with both Ye and Drake throughout his career. Producer Mike Dean, another prominent Houston figure and longtime Ye collaborator, was also reportedly present.
Record Night Adds to Houston’s Music History
The record-setting crowd gave Houston another major moment in live music. It also showed the city’s ability to attract stadium audiences for hip-hop’s biggest artists.
The concert combined Ye’s extensive catalog with surprise guests and notable celebrity appearances. For music fans, the Halloween performance became a historic night at one of the city’s largest venues.
