HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man is on the run after he escaped the police perimeter set up during a barricade scene in north Houston on Sunday, according to police.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call in the 2400 block of Presley Street at around 11:45 a.m.

A woman told police she was delivering an Amazon package when shots rang out from the house. HPD said she found her car had been struck by the bullets.

Officials said that the delivery woman was not hit by any bullets and is not injured.

Police told ABC13 that the delivery woman told them that she saw the suspect inside the home; he briefly spoke to her, then retreated inside.

HPD said that when officers arrived, they did not make contact with the man.

According to Lt. Kelly at the scene, officers set a perimeter until SWAT arrived, but then were unable to find him.

“Right now, it is believed the suspect was able to break the perimeter, and we were not able to locate him, and that’s where we’re at at this moment,” Kelly said at the scene.

The suspect on the run was described as a Hispanic man in his 50s who fled on foot, and police urged anyone with information about him to call police.

HPD said an investigation is underway.
