Cirque Du Soleil Adds Twelve Days to the Houston Engagement of Its Iconic and Beloved Production Alegría!

Due to popular demand, Cirque du Soleil is excited to be adding 12 days of performances (March 31 – April 12, 2020) to the previously-announced Houston engagement of its joyful, magical and visually-stunning production Alegría, our most iconic production. Now from February 29, 2020 – April 12, 2020, audiences are invited to the Big Top at Sam Houston Race Park to escape to this classic Cirque production shown in a new light.

Broadway World

Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria is a true classic that has touched over 14 million people in 250 cities around the world. The revival of the show keeps the essence of the original production by revisiting its signature elements and pushing them further to today’s audiences as it was at its first performance in 1994. Alegria embodies the Cirque du Soleil experience with all its signature components; jaw-dropping acrobatics, an imaginary world populated by fanciful characters, soul-touching clowning, otherworldly costume, and set designs, and an enchanting musical score.

If you have never seen one of our shows, Alegria is the best introduction to our world. If you have seen Alegria before, come discover it in its bright new reincarnation and fall in love with it all over again.

More about Alegría:

Alegría (‘joy’ in Spanish) takes audiences at the heart of a once glorious kingdom now in decay led by the king’s fool and a dusty aristocracy. Carried by an intangible wind of change, an emerging movement from the streets strives to shake this established order, instilling hope and renewal to bring light and harmony to their world. With its joyful spirit, Alegría is a vital, energizing force driven by a thirst for a brighter tomorrow.

In true Cirque du Soleil fashion, Alegría unfolds soul-touching clown antics and remarkable acrobatic performances in a whimsical and immersive visual universe. Perched at the top of the Big Top, gymnasts fly from one High Bar to the next, and leap into the void to reach the hands of mighty catchers suspended on a cradle swing. Using all her limbs, an artist dazzles with her ability to spin and twirl a multitude of hoops while contorting her body with otherworldly ease. Other Jaw-dropping highlights include a daredevil Fire Knife Dancer eating, breathing, touching and juggling with flames; a sublime couple on Aerial Straps soaring through a delicate snowstorm; and fourteen tumblers bouncing off a Powertrack (trampoline tracks) embedded into the stage to perform crisscrossing series of daring somersaults.

  1. Thanks for your blog post. What I would like to add is that laptop or computer memory must be purchased when your computer still can’t cope with anything you do by using it. One can add two good old ram boards containing 1GB each, as an illustration, but not one of 1GB and one with 2GB. One should always check the manufacturer’s documentation for the PC to be certain what type of memory space it can take.

  2. Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!

  3. Thanks for your useful article. Other thing is that mesothelioma cancer is generally the result of the breathing of fibers from mesothelioma, which is a very toxic material. It truly is commonly found among workers in the structure industry who may have long exposure to asbestos. It is also caused by residing in asbestos covered buildings for a long period of time, Inherited genes plays a crucial role, and some people are more vulnerable on the risk when compared with others.

  4. Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest authoring a blog article or vice-versa? My site addresses a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you are interested feel free to send me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Fantastic blog by the way!
