HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police have identified a woman whose skeletal remains were found in a cooler along Hirsch Road near Buffalo Bayou this February as 35-year-old Dionne Williams.
The mother of two young children was first reported missing from the Greater Fifth Ward area in 2024.
“Now we’re seeking justice. Now we need justice,” Williams’ mother, Melissa Cashaw, said.
Cashaw told ABC13 she “knew something was wrong” when her daughter failed to show up to church on Mother’s Day 2024. She said she immediately began searching for her.
However, Houston police believe Williams may have been seen by others as late as August 2024. The department is asking anyone who knows anything about where Williams was or with whom from April to August 2024 to contact its homicide division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
“Release that information. We need closure,” Cashaw pleaded.
According to Houston police, it remains unclear how Williams died. Cashaw told ABC13 if her daughter was murdered, she wants the killer or killers to know that both God and her family “forgive them.”
Costumed Suspect Identified as 41-Year-Old Jermel Jones
The suspect, 41-year-old Jermel Jarreau Jones, was taken into custody on Wednesday while still dressed as the iconic mouse. Police said they approached him during work hours and he initially resisted arrest, forcing officers to physically restrain him.
“Chuck E, come with me Chuck E,” one officer reportedly said during the arrest.
Stolen Card Found in Mouse Costume
According to the arrest report, officers discovered the missing debit card in Jones’ pants pocket after removing the oversized Chuck E. Cheese head. The card had been reported stolen during a child’s birthday party on June 28. Police alleged that Jones used the card multiple times—at a smoke shop, a meat market, and a Whataburger.
Jones Denies Theft, Claims He Planned to Turn It In
Jones denied the accusations, telling police he had just found the card and was about to return it to the lost and found. He now faces felony charges including larceny of a debit card, identity theft, and fraudulent use of the card.
Customer Helped Crack the Case
The victim reportedly investigated the unauthorized charges herself. After tracking down surveillance footage from a meat market, she recognized Jones as a Chuck E. Cheese employee and alerted police. She later accompanied officers to the restaurant and agreed to press charges after identifying him.
Company Responds
In a statement to ABC News, a Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson said, “We have taken the appropriate action concerning the subject employee,” and directed further inquiries to the Tallahassee Police Department.
The arrest, which unfolded in front of children and families, has sparked widespread attention both online and in the local community. Stay tuned to Que Onda Magazine.
On Tuesday, the tennis legend not only secured a victory against 23-year-old Peyton Stearns—making her the oldest woman to win a WTA singles match since 2004—but also confirmed her engagement to longtime partner Andrea Preti.
A Supportive Partner Courtside
During a post-match interview, Williams responded to being called an “engaged woman” with heartfelt acknowledgment.
“Yes, my fiancé is here,” she said, drawing applause from the crowd.
“He really encouraged me to keep playing… He’s never seen me play.” When the interviewer called Preti her “good luck charm,” Williams smiled and agreed.
Who Is Andrea Preti?
Preti, 37, is a Danish-born, Italian-raised model and actor. He studied acting at New York’s Susan Batson Studio and has appeared in several films and series, including “One More Day,” which he also wrote and directed, and the Italian drama “Un Professore.” Most recently, he starred in Temptation (2023).
A Low-Key Romance
The couple has kept their relationship mostly private. First spotted together in Italy in July 2024, they sparked engagement rumors earlier this year when Williams was seen wearing a ring at a training session in Rome. Their only major public appearance came during Milan Fashion Week at the Dsquared2 Fall/Winter 2025 show.
Preti’s Past Relationship
Before Williams, Preti dated Italian tennis player Susanna Giovanardi. The two attended the “Challengers” premiere together in April 2024.
Now, with a new milestone in her personal life and her continued achievements on the court, Venus Williams enters this next chapter with love, resilience, and renewed energy.
Anne Hathaway thrilled fans this week with a sleek Instagram teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2, co-posted with 20th Century Studios. Captioned “Andy Sachs 2025,” the post shows Hathaway in a vintage pinstriped Jean-Paul Gaultier suit—her new look a confident contrast from the earnest, overwhelmed Andy of 2006.
The original Devil Wears Prada captivated audiences not only with couture, but with its deeper themes of ambition, identity, and belonging. The sequel, slated for a May 1, 2026 premiere, promises a modern return to that glamorous world, offering both nostalgia and a fresh twist.
The Cast: Familiar Faces and New Additions
Meryl Streep will return as the formidable Miranda Priestly, joined by Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, reprising their roles as Nigel and Emily. New cast members include Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, and Kenneth Branagh, reportedly playing Miranda’s husband.
The Plot: Old Rivalries in a New Media Era
While details are still under wraps, fan theories and IMDb suggest the story will follow Miranda’s rivalry with former assistant Emily Charlton, now a competing executive, in the battle for relevance and ad dollars in the face of a declining print industry. Expect themes of legacy, reinvention, and survival in the digital age.
Filming Locations and Set Details
Filming is already underway in New York City, where Streep, Tucci, and Hathaway were spotted on set. The original film’s iconic interiors—like Miranda’s $26.5 million Upper East Side townhouse—remain part of the visual legacy. Although we’ve yet to see inside the new Runway offices, fans can expect another round of swoon-worthy set design and fashion-forward aesthetics.
The Wait Begins
As excitement builds, one thing is clear: The Devil Wears Prada 2 is shaping up to be as iconic, stylish, and sharp-tongued as ever. And yes, we’re hoping The Book is still printed—and not just another iPad on the table with the flowers.

The visit comes as the Fed faces criticism over a $2.5 billion renovation project and continued tension over interest-rate policies.
Unprecedented Presidential Visit
Scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, the tour was originally planned as an internal review of the Fed’s extensive renovation. However, Trump’s late decision to attend marks a rare presidential appearance at the central bank and signals deeper political pressure.
The last known presidential visit was by George W. Bush in 2006.
Renovation Becomes Political Flashpoint
Trump and top advisers have targeted the costly upgrade of the historic Marriner S. Eccles Building and its neighboring facility. Originally estimated at $1.9 billion, the project ballooned to $2.5 billion due to inflation, rising labor and material costs, and extended use of leased space. Trump has called the overrun a potential “fireable offense.”
Powell Responds to Allegations
In response to accusations from White House budget director Russ Vought, Powell defended the renovation, citing urgent needs for asbestos removal, system upgrades, and code compliance. He emphasized that the Fed voluntarily works with federal planners but is not legally bound by their guidelines.
“There’s no VIP dining room, there’s no new marble … just old elevators,” Powell testified before the Senate, denying claims the upgrades were lavish.
Rate Dispute Fuels Tensions
Trump has long criticized Powell for not cutting interest rates further, even branding him “Too Late.” While the Fed is expected to hold rates steady next week, Trump continues to link the renovation controversy to broader economic grievances.
Trump’s Political Strategy
Despite saying he won’t fire Powell—an action that could spark economic and legal turmoil—Trump made it clear Powell’s final months will be contentious. “He’s done a bad job, but he’s going to be out pretty soon anyway,” Trump said this week.
Fed Orders New Oversight
To address growing scrutiny, Powell has called for the Fed’s inspector general to review the renovation once more. The project, which involves two nearly century-old buildings on the National Mall, remains a focal point for both financial policy debates and political maneuvering.
Former President Barack Obama has become the target of death threats and calls for imprisonment following accusations of treason made by President Donald Trump and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Their claims allege that Obama and his administration manipulated intelligence about Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Surge in Online Threats
According to the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE), threatening and violent online comments spiked between July 17 and July 20 across Truth Social, Gab, and Telegram. On Truth Social alone, such posts jumped from 3 to 36—an 1,100 percent increase.
Controversial Report Sparks Backlash
The uproar began after Gabbard released a report accusing Obama’s administration of engineering intelligence to support what she described as a “yearslong coup” against Trump. She pledged to refer the matter to the Justice Department for prosecution.
Trump followed up by sharing an AI-generated video on Truth Social showing Obama being arrested, which further inflamed online rhetoric.
Condemnation and Denials
White House and DNI spokespeople publicly condemned all forms of violence, while emphasizing the need for accountability. However, GPAHE warned that such rhetoric from high-ranking officials not only incites extremists but also dangerously normalizes conspiracy-driven language in public discourse.
Obama’s Office Responds
On Tuesday, Trump called Obama “the leader of the gang” behind efforts to undermine his presidency, labeling the acts as treason. Later, Obama’s office released a rare statement, calling the allegations “bizarre,” “outrageous,” and “a weak attempt at distraction.”
Spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush added that nothing in Gabbard’s report undermined the bipartisan findings that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election, although no votes were altered.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We’re shooting back up toward 100 degrees on Thursday, but we’re cooling off at the end of the week as another round of tropical downpours blows in Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures will peak near the record high of 101 degrees set back in 1954. Clouds will increase late in the day from the direction of the Gulf as tropical moisture increases ahead of the disturbance tracking our way.
What should I know about the rain chances late this week?
The tropical moisture reaches Southeast Texas on Friday, sticks around Saturday, and departs on Sunday. At this time we expect the tropical moisture to remain disorganized, but there is a chance it could try to organize into a tropical depression. For now we are predicting scattered downpours starting Friday with another round or two on Saturday. Saturday’s rain will occur earlier in the day, meaning we may not warm out of the 80s!
What’s happening in the tropics?
The main thing we are watching is the tropical moisture that will traverse the northern Gulf waters this week. For a thorough update and in-depth video on what’s happening in the tropics, head to our tropical update page.
“Fantastic Four: First Steps” marks Marvel’s much-anticipated introduction of its iconic superhero family to a new era, and the film delivers a strikingly fresh take that stands apart from most contemporary MCU entries. Director Matt Shakman leans hard into a ’60s retro-futuristic aesthetic, immersing viewers in a world unlike anything the Marvel franchise has presented before. The visual style—balancing dazzling effects with stylish set pieces—does a great deal to reintroduce the world of the Fantastic Four while still feeling accessible to newcomers. You don’t need to be up-to-date on decades of Marvel movies to immediately buy into this universe.
The greatest triumph of “First Steps” is its focus on the theme of family. Unlike previous film versions, this movie puts the group’s dynamic front and center, breathing life into Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben in ways Marvel fans and first-timers alike can appreciate. The chemistry between Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards) and Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), in particular, is authentic and heartfelt, grounding the superpowered chaos with genuine emotional stakes. Even as the world teeters on the edge of destruction, the film never loses sight of the characters’ bonds.
Performance-wise, the main cast truly shines. Pedro Pascal manages to bring Reed Richards’ intellect and leadership to the fore while giving him a relatable, human vulnerability. Kirby’s performance as Sue is strong and measured, balancing resolve with compassion. Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm round out the ensemble, offering depth and levity in equal measure. Their camaraderie sells the fantasy that these heroes are more than a team—they are a genuine family, with all the joys and conflicts that entails.
Where “First Steps” falters is in its pacing and narrative focus. At less than two hours, the story rockets forward, seldom pausing to linger on emotional or thematic beats that might have been worthy of more development. Some character arcs, especially Ben Grimm’s, feel undercooked—presented with interesting seeds but not given enough time to grow. Meanwhile, the film’s main antagonist looms large, and while visually impressive, the threat sometimes doesn’t fully register on a personal level due to the speed of the plot.
However, what the movie may sacrifice in nuance, it makes up for in spectacle and energy. The action sequences are inventive, the score is uplifting, and the film is self-contained enough to feel satisfying even to those who have skipped recent Marvel outings. There are clever nods for longtime fans, but nothing that alienates the casual viewer. The blend of zippy humor, high stakes, and genuine emotion creates an atmosphere that’s entertaining from start to finish.
Ultimately, “Fantastic Four: First Steps” sets a strong foundation for Marvel’s first family. While not the most daring superhero movie, it reinvigorates a classic property by returning to what made these characters special in the first place—their strong, complicated, loving sense of togetherness. It’s a hopeful, stylish new beginning for the Fantastic Four, one that invites audiences to join them on future adventures.
The Trump administration has released a comprehensive AI Action Plan aimed at positioning the United States as the global leader in artificial intelligence.
The 28-page policy blueprint was unveiled Wednesday and includes major steps to encourage innovation, streamline regulations, and export U.S. AI technologies.
Cutting Regulations, Promoting Innovation
Key features of the plan include reducing federal regulations that hinder AI development and allowing private sector input to shape AI policy. The administration also pledged to revise federal procurement guidelines to ensure AI systems contracted by the government are “objective and free from top-down ideological bias.”
The Commerce Department has been tasked with removing references to misinformation, climate change, and diversity, equity, and inclusion from its AI risk framework.
Infrastructure and Workforce Development
To support rapid AI deployment, the plan proposes expediting permits for data centers and semiconductor manufacturing facilities. It also outlines new national initiatives to increase the number of trained professionals in high-demand fields such as HVAC and electrical work.
Exporting American AI
The United States will partner with industry to deliver complete AI technology packages — including software, hardware, models, and standards — to allies. This move is aimed at countering China’s influence in AI governance and expanding American technological dominance worldwide.
Federal Leaders Voice Support
“This plan galvanizes Federal efforts to turbocharge our innovation capacity, build cutting-edge infrastructure, and lead globally,” said Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
AI and crypto advisor David Sacks added, “To win the AI race, the U.S. must lead in innovation, infrastructure, and global partnerships. At the same time, we must center American workers and avoid Orwellian uses of AI.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized, “These clear-cut policy goals set expectations for the Federal Government to ensure America sets the technological gold standard worldwide.”

Actor Jerry O’Connell surprised audiences during a recent comedy show in Montauk when he shared that his wife, former supermodel Rebecca Romijn, had once been to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.
O’Connell, 51, explained the visit occurred during Romijn’s modeling career and was strictly professional.
“Actually, my wife told me she went to Epstein Island. There was a modeling shoot there. My wife was modeling at the time,” he said.
The comment was made during a live set with comedian Seth Herzog, who had mentioned Epstein’s island as part of a stand-up bit. O’Connell quickly reassured the audience: “I know this is a comedy show, but that’s the end of that story. There was no massaging of feet.”
An Unconventional Marriage Approach
The couple recently opened up about their unique financial arrangement during an interview with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM. Romijn revealed, “We keep our money completely separate,” noting they contribute to a shared family account on a quarterly basis.
O’Connell added, “We actually throttle how much money we put into that account,” adjusting based on who is working more at the time.
The pair married in 2007, two years after Romijn’s divorce from “Full House” actor John Stamos. They have been together for 18 years, managing their relationship with transparency and nontraditional rules.
