The latest weekend box office results placed “Clayface” at No. 1 across the United States and Canada. The DC Studios release earned an estimated $24 million from Friday through Sunday.

However, A24’s “You Can See Everything” delivered the weekend’s biggest surprise. The documentary collected $19.5 million after expanding nationwide.

‘Clayface’ Leads Weekend Box Office Results

“Clayface” opened in 3,458 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo. Its $24 million debut narrowly secured first place for Warner Bros. and DC Studios.

The R-rated film combines comic book storytelling with body horror. Tom Rhys Harries stars as Matt Hagen, an actor who undergoes experimental surgery after suffering a disfiguring attack.

The movie reportedly cost $44 million to produce. That is considerably less than the budgets of many superhero releases. It also earned $19 million internationally during its opening weekend.

Audiences gave “Clayface” an A-minus CinemaScore, according to the Associated Press. The strong audience response could help the film during the Halloween period.

‘You Can See Everything’ Expands Its Audience

“You Can See Everything” finished second with $19.5 million. More notably, its weekend earnings increased 25% from the previous frame.

The Elizabeth Holmes documentary expanded from 855 locations to 2,655 theaters. It has now earned more than $45.1 million domestically in only two weeks.

Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim directed the A24 release. Its early success has placed it among the highest-grossing documentaries in theatrical history. The film has also generated growing awards-season attention.

Its strong performance shows that documentaries can compete with major studio releases when audience interest builds. It also produced a higher per-theater average than “Clayface” during the weekend.

‘Wildwood’ Takes Third as ‘Street Fighter’ Falls

Laika’s stop-motion fantasy “Wildwood” opened in third place. It earned approximately $12.3 million, according to The Numbers.

The PG-13 adventure follows a teenage girl entering an enchanted forest to rescue her baby brother. Audiences gave the film an A CinemaScore. Still, its reported $100 million production budget creates a difficult path toward profitability.

“Street Fighter” dropped to fourth place after leading the previous weekend. The video game adaptation earned $8.6 million, a steep 72% decline. Its domestic total reached approximately $46.9 million after 10 days.

“Wicker” rounded out the top five with about $5.8 million. The romantic fable stars Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård.
