Shakira and Burna Boy have joined forces for “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, bringing together Afrobeats, reggaeton and dance-pop ahead of the global tournament.
The energetic track features lyrics in English and Spanish, while also incorporating phrases from Italian, French and Japanese. Its multilingual chorus — built around the phrase “let’s go” — aims to unite soccer fans worldwide as excitement builds for the World Cup next month.
Shakira Produces and Writes “Dai Dai”
In addition to performing on the song, Shakira served as producer, composer and lyricist. Other contributors include Ed Sheeran and Jon Bellion.
During a FIFA press conference, Shakira said the song connects her lifelong passions for music and education. She explained that “Dai Dai” was created not only for soccer fans, but also to inspire children around the world who lack access to quality education and opportunities.
FIFA Education Fund to Benefit
Royalties from the song will support FIFA’s Global Citizen Education Fund, which helps underserved children gain access to education and soccer programs worldwide. FIFA also announced that Sony Music will match the first $250,000 raised through the initiative.
Historic World Cup Halftime Show
The release comes shortly after FIFA confirmed Shakira will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show alongside Madonna and BTS. The event is being curated by Chris Martin and will also feature appearances by Sesame Street characters and The Muppets.
Shakira is currently touring across the United States on her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour, while Burna Boy continues his “No Sign of Weakness” world tour.
